Should i get an itouch4 or wait for an itouch5? Or Should I get something differen't entirely?

Right Now, I don't have an Ipod at all... I play tennis and i am doing a tennis tournament. I have gone through lots of training and my parents told me if I do my best, they will get me something like an Itouch or something like that. If I chose to get the 4g, I could get it Saturday, or I could wait for the 5g in September. I really want to wait for the 5G, but I'm going to California in 2 weeks and I want to have one when I go, because the car drive is really boring. I could also get something like a RC Plane, or a starter Synthesizer, it wouldn't be very good though.
