My Xbox 360 has three red ring of death, could someone tell me how to fix this?

My friend gave it to me and said if i fixed it i could keep it. and i cant send it in cuz their is no insurance on it and i dont wanna pay 50 bux to get it fixed. so if their is something easy that i can do please for the love of all that is holy help me out
