So Sarkozy is insisting Ireland MUST have a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty...?

Is this an affront to democracy? What if Ireland says no again with an even bigger majority? Will they have to have a third referendum? A fourth? A fifth? As many as it takes until Ireland votes yes?
