How do i know if he likes me bak?

ok so i like this gut but idk if he likes me bak ppl say he dus like my friends but idk if there rite but the weird thing is that he is 1 of my gut friends so it is really akward but my friend told him yhat i liked him so now he knows buti keep on telling him that i dont that i only like him as a friend!!
